Recycling Economic Impact
Recycling Means Business In Georgia
Georgia is well known in the nation for its plentiful markets for recovered materials. Our state is considered to have one of the largest infrastructures in the nation for recovery and end use of recyclables. The mobius, or recycling symbol as it is more often called, represents the three components of the “closed loop” process that defines recycling: collection, processing and manufacturing.

As part of Georgia Recycling Coalition’s ongoing efforts to Sustain the Recovered Materials Economy, we are compiling profiles of companies in Georgia who are “End Users” of recycled feedstock in the manufacturing of consumer goods. End users are defined as consumers of recyclables for the purpose of re-manufacturing the raw materials into a new product; this entity “closes the loop” of collection, processing and manufacturing. Thus the term “recycled content” is included on many consumer products.
The featured companies provide information on the importance recycling plays in capturing recovered materials feed stocks for their industries. They also indicate their impact on society with job creation, economic development, and environmental savings in energy and water use over virgin material feed stocks.
With so many benefits, who wouldn’t want to recycle? If you are a Georgia-based end user of recovered materials, please send us information to include you in our profiles.
