May 13th: GRC Facility Tour in Newnan Featuring Yamaha Motor and Newnan Utilities’ Compost Facility

The Georgia Recycling Coalition hosted its first Recycling RoadShow in Newnan, highlighting sustainability and recycling initiatives making an impact across the community. The day began with a tour of Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America, where attendees got an inside look at their manufacturing operations and learned more about Yamaha’s commitment to sustainability — from energy conservation efforts to closed-loop manufacturing processes as well as employee and community recycling initiatives.

Following lunch sponsored by Amwaste and networking, the group visited Newnan Utilities’ compost facility to see firsthand how biosolids are transformed at their composting operation into a beneficial resource for the community.

A huge thank you to YamahaNewnan UtilitiesAmwaste, Keep Newnan Beautiful, and everyone who joined us for helping make the first Recycling RoadShow a success. We’re excited to continue showcasing the incredible sustainability work happening across Georgia.
